The book has been wonderfully transformed into a short 5 min documentary by UNSW TV. Part 1 is shown below with a first-time narrator and presenter (he needs work!). Harley Oliver was writer, director and editor and UNSW’s Mary O’Malley from ABC’s ‘Tribal Wedding’ fame also helped produce the film. It was a little daunting but fun doing this - many thanks to Harley and Mary!

Had a very enjoyable Mosman readers book talk last night in the Mosman library. Despite my attempts, it seems no-one from the ‘flat earth’ climate change denial community turned up. The whole point of the book however is to not debate the science - IT IS IRRELEVANT nowadays - the global energy economy is moving to a clean, low carbon future. Remember the stats on global new investment in renewables vs the old fossil fuel during 2008 - the low carbon shift is on in a big way and for Australia to deny it is going to cause us great economic damage.
I must say though I have had some fervent climate change denialist’s switch sides after some talks - not in terms of the science (that is irrelevant remember) - but because of the economic imperative for Australia to decarbonise. That has been the most fulfilling part of the books national tour.
