Shearer’s Book Launch with Anthony Albanese MP

On Tuesday night, Anthony Albanese, federal member for Grayndler and Minister for Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development and Local Government launched the book at Shearer’s Book Shop in Leichhardt on Norton St in Sydney.  It was a great night and thanks to Anthony and Shearer’s! Sun-Herald Book Review

Just got back from a weekend trip to England to hear that Sydney’s Sun-Herald (Daniel Herborn) gave a great review of the book on Sunday!  Text and pdf below:

Exploding the myth that moving to a more ecologically sustainable industry will come at the cost of jobs, this is a tightly argued and very accessible contribution to the climate- change debate. A scientist who also holds a masters in economics, McNeil shows how Australia’s carbon-dependent and acutely climate-sensitive economy can thrive in a new era where oil production has peaked. He also has a knack for illuminating analogies, likening the coal industry to Coca- Cola in the 1980s: mega-popular but threatened with a loss of market share unless it adopts a healthier form.

BRW feature

Anthony Sibillin from BRW wrote a great feature piece on the importance of innovation spending in down-turns with a special mention of ‘The Clean Industrial Revolution’ and the need for research & development for the Australian economy to emerge well out of the recession.

Re-print ordered!

You might be glad to hear that my publisher needs to do another print run for the book which is great since I found a couple of typos in the first print-run that I can correct :) Many thanks to your wonderful support.
